It is easy to get stuck in the work routine. That is why it is important that we know how to motivate ourselves to make each day a positive experience and not a real torture.
There are ways to make your work day interesting and stimulating.
1. Every day an opportunity
Never stop learning. That you no longer go to college or university does not mean you should stop learning. Learn all you can from each experience in your work. About your teammates, your tasks, your boss…
2. Share what you know with your classmates
Each person has a way of working but you will know the union is strength. For example, every time my classmates ask me a question, I not only try to resolve it, but also give them my point of view on how I would do it and how I do things.
You will give them ideas that surely would not have come without your input. And the same in reverse. Do not hesitate to share your doubts with your classmates. They can help you more than you think.
3. Smart Breaks
It is impossible to work 8 hours in a row with the same intensity. So take a break every hour and a half of about 5 minutes. Take a short walk in the office, wash your face, refresh yourself a little … Anything to disconnect from your tasks. You will see how when you return from your rest, you will be with the batteries charged until the next rest.
4. More than partners
I do not ask you to know your wedding date or the name of your children but having a good relationship with coworkers will make your work a more attractive place. What did you think of the movie last night, the weather today … things that a priori may not seem significant, but you will see how little by little that distance gets shorter. It has happened to me.
5. Join the party
Participate in after work activities. A weekend dinner, drinks or a simple coffee in the afternoon. Whatever, but don’t miss the opportunity to spend time with your co-workers outside of work.
This will help you create a community among you that will bring you closer to them. They will no longer be simple coworkers. And therefore, going to work now or will be an ordeal (or at least as much as before).
6. Your personal signature
Make your workplace a unique place. Be it on your desk, your office, in the office, in the classroom … A motivational phrases in post it, photos of your family, until you bring your own cup for coffee. All in order to make yours the space you have destined to work. It is like a small part of you.
7. One by one
Better to do 4 tasks and finish them than not start 7 and finish none. If you work on the same task until you finish it, you will not waste time or concentration. However, if your head is in 4 things at once you will be in all and at the same time in none. Your effectiveness will go down and the result of the task will not be as good.
By concentrating on a task you have everything focused and oriented to it. There are no interruptions or distractions. So you know, one by one.
8. Very good!
Reward yourself for your achievements. Finish the task of the day sooner than you thought, finally finish a report, that the boss congratulates you on your work … You need to tell yourself that you have done things well when you have done them well. Even if it’s something small, you’ll be proud of yourself and want more and more.
9. Good vibes
Relationship with positive people. It is difficult not to interact with people when they are in an enclosed space, but at least and vita have a lot of contact with those people who see a problem for each solution. That is, avoid toxic people. Surround yourself with good energy, people who want to motivate themselves and be positive in their work. Like you.
10. Smile more
When you greet your classmates, when you go down the hall, to a meeting … Smile even when you don’t feel like doing it. It will make you feel better, and seeing a smile on your face will make others feel better too.
If you think you can, you can and if you think you can’t, you can’t. Either way you’re right – Henry Ford
